Art with Purpose

Art is a profound language, a bridge between emotions and expressions, and my journey as an artist is rooted in this understanding of duality. My paintings and drawings serve a dual purpose: they are a personal exploration of my inner world while simultaneously offering a meaningful connection to those who commission or purchase my work.

Creating art is not just a process; it is a sanctuary where I find solace, peace, and sometimes even spiritual healing. The colors I choose, the forms I create, and the narratives I can create are all peeks into a creative place, revealing both happiness and sorrow.

However, the true magic of art unfolds when it resonates with others. The commissions I receive, particularly those for pet portraits, and other family members reveal an intimate bond between the artwork and the pet owner or family. For many, these portraits are more than just visual representations; they are cherished memories of beloved companions—animals and family that have brought unconditional love, joy, and sometimes profound grief. When I create a portrait, I am not merely capturing a likeness; I am honoring a life, celebrating a bond that transcends time, and providing a tangible connection to the past.

Through this process, I become a conduit. The act of commissioning a portrait, or landscape, or any work, often stems from a place of love, nostalgia, and sometimes loss. I am aware that my work serves as a companion to those who seek to keep the memory of something alive, to hold onto the happiness that it brought, or to process their grief. I’ve seen and felt that in many eyes and many hugs. It is a privilege to be entrusted with such personal stories, and I approach each commission with the utmost respect and sensitivity.

Having said that, being a creative is a ton of fun and personally more rewarding than anything I’ve worked at in the past 30 years. I thank you and more importantly I thank my wife and sons for tolerating my craziness over the years that has led me to this point, to finally follow a path that most likely will not result in fortune, but will result in satisfaction.

Thanks,

Chris
